Mailing Us Firearms

Desert Predator Custom welcomes all in and out-of-state business. With that, we want to ensure that customers understand the proper procedures in order for their firearms to reach us safely and legally. Paraphrased below are the laws relating to a non Fedaral Firearms Licensee mailing to an FFL holder (us) directly:

A nonlicensee may mail a shotgun or rifle to a resident of his or her own state or to a licensee in any state. A nonlicensee may not transfer any firearm to a nonlicensed resident of another state. Handguns are not mailable through the U.S Postal Service. A common or contract carrier must be used to ship a handgun. In addition, Federal law requires that the carrier be notified that the shipment contains a firearm and prohibits common or contract carriers from requiring or causing any label to be placed on any package indicating that it contains a firearm.
[18 U.S.C. 1715, 922(a)(2)(A), 922(a) (3), 922(a)(5) and 922(e), 27 CFR 178.31, 27 CFR 478.31 and 478.30]

Make sure that your firearm is well packed to prevent movement and damage during shipment. DPC is not responsible for incoming shipping damage and will contact you if we discover that your shipment has been damaged in transit. If you decide to ship your firearm in its factory box, we suggest our customers find an additional, plain box to house it in, in order to remove any indication that a firearm is inside. It is against the law to include ammo with your firearm shipment. Loose ammo or boxed ammo cannot be included. Make sure to clear your firearms prior to packaging. If it is more convenient, a customer may have a local FFL holder handle the mailing of the firearm. When we return a repaired or customized firearm, it can be shipped directly to a customer's home or an FFL of the customer's choosing. All firearm shipments require signature confirmation. Customers are responsible for paying both outgoing and return shipping costs. Please contact us by email or phone before sending anything our way.
